Katrina Heroes

I cannot shed any more tears over the treatment/mistreatment of American citizens in the Gulf Coast region. As the song says, I am all cried out. I am now angry. Before I post something expressing my outrage (and it is coming) I want to write about some heroes. Needless to say, they are not government officials. They are ordinary people who saw a need and filled it.

The first is Deamonte Love, who is all of 6 years old and who kept six other children together because he promised his mother he would.

The second hero is Jabbor Gibson, an 18 year old who liberated 100 people out of the Hell of the Superdome and drove them to Houston and the Astrodome.

The third is a trio of Duke University students , who pretended to be members of the media and liberated 7 hurricane victims that had been abandoned by their government.

This is the way to Speak Truth to Power!
