Birthers, Birthers, Go Away

I cannot be the only one who is tired of the obfuscated reasons Birthers give for still continuing their ridiculous mission. For three years they have gone on and on about President Barack Obama being born in Kenya instead of Hawaii and therefore not qualified to hold the office of President of the United States of America. When he finally had enough of their yapping, he gave the state of Hawaii permission to release his long form birth certificate. It is certainly nothing that he ever had to do, because he has obviously been vetted every step of the way in his historic rise to power as leader of the free world.

The birthers, of course, will still not let it go. They have gotten too much mileage about this non story to do that. Just once, though, I would like for one of them to truly say why they take on this ridiculous cause. That admission would go something like this:

"This is America and in America we do not allow Black people to lead us. They can be Assistants, or Vice this or that, or Undersecretary but they cannot be allowed to be THE decision maker. To be allowed to be elected President of the United States is a defeat for us in more ways than one. It is an indication that America is getting close to judging a man by the content of his character instead of the color of his skin. If this happens then all the world will know that the nonsense we have been spouting for generations regarding the inferiority of the Black man or woman in America was and is a lie. Our notions about ourselves as white people in America and the world will be held up to the light of truth and we will be found lacking. We cannot and will not allow that to happen. We know there are still some diehards who want to keep up the oppression of the Black man in America. They are our base and we know their hearts and mind. We cannot, however, honestly express what some might call our racism. So we will use code words. Code words have always worked in rallying our troops. Like when we talked about the 'peculiar institution' instead of the brutality of slavery. Or when we reluctantly agreed to Brown v Board of Education only when the clause 'all deliberate speed' was added. It took almost 15 years for them to figure out we had no intention of truly integrating schools. Our Birther movement is in that fine tradition of saying one thing but really meaning another. It worked then and it will work now. We are confident of that, because we know the Founding Fathers of this nation are the best example of duplicity."

Please. Make it stop.
